3. Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey - Bommes

Are you looking for a quiet and peaceful place to enjoy your nature retreat? We've found the hotel for you: Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey. Situated on the heights of the village of Bommes, this magnificent building sits in the middle of dozens of hectares of vines destined to make Sauternes wine.

The estate, built more than 400 years ago, reflects the French art of living and its refinement, notably thanks to its exceptional service. The decoration and colour of the rooms blend with the shades of the vines, constantly honouring the traditions of this emblematic place.

At dinner time, the Lalique starred restaurant welcomes you with its unobstructed view of the estate's vineyards. You can take the time to taste the seven-course menu, prepared by chef Jérôme Schilling with carefully selected local produce. This is the perfect way to savour the delights of Bordeaux gastronomy.

4. The Domaine des Etangs - Massignac

The Domaine des Etangs, located in the heart of the Charente, is an estate with more than 1,000 hectares of preserved nature, divided between forests, pastures and water. As you can see, it is a quiet and intimate place, in the heart of a harmonious nature.

The estate has 3 different types of accommodation: one is a castle, with each of the 7 suites and rooms named after a star. The decoration and style of the room depends on the star you choose.... You will also have the possibility to stay in the long house, a typical long building with rural architecture. It is composed of 4 suites dedicated to the 4 seasons, for a different spirit according to your favourite time of the year. And finally, the last atypical accommodation proposed is a métairie. These are several buildings spread between the two ponds of the domain, where the rooms are named after fantastic creatures!

On the 1,000 hectares of green nature, you can also enjoy a few activities such as a boat trip, a sports or meditation trail, a picnic in the forest and even a visit to the vegetable garden, rich in regional flavours... A spa with personalised treatments is also at your disposal, to allow you to relax and reconnect with nature.

As you will have understood, the Domaine des Etangs is a refined, atypical and natural place, as much for its tailor-made decoration as for its attentive services.

5. Château de Ferrand - Saint-Emilion

One of the oldest properties in Saint-Emilion is Château de Ferrand, an estate with ten hectares of vines overlooking the Dordogne valley and offering a 360° view of its vineyard landscape. In its 300-year history, the Château de Ferrand has only known 2 owner families, which has allowed it to preserve its soul and authentic charm.

Decorated only with stone, wood and leather, the castle offers a soft and refined atmosphere. The spacious rooms are tastefully decorated, but with simplicity to keep the contemporary chic style and spirit of the castle.

The originality of Château de Ferrand lies in the tasting room, which you will also have the opportunity to discover. Indeed, the château once belonged to the Bich family, a family that may not tell you anything at first, but that we all know for the famous felt-tip pens and pencils that we use every day... It is Alexandre Doucin, an outstanding draughtsman, who has created a fresco on all the walls of the room using a black monochrome Bic Cristal pen! A unique decoration, which he has to redo every 3 years because of the time which erases his masterpiece, but which gives this room a crazy charm. During your tasting, you will be able to discover this incredible fresco and another amusing originality: a cloud ceiling!

As you can see, the Château de Ferrand is a place that is as atypical as it is chic.
