Need some space? Here are 5 hotels to be alone in the world!

Sometimes we all need a change of scenery and a little isolation. What could be better than to escape to a place far from everything to be alone, with your partner, family or friends?

Head for these unusual accommodations totally isolated from the rest of the world!

1. Niehku Mountain Villa - Sweden

Niehku Mountain Villa offers a breathtaking experience in the heart of Swedish Lapland. 200 kilometers north of the Arctic Circle, between Norway and Sweden, you are sure not to encounter many people other than a few reindeer or polar bears. To get there, you'll have to fly from Stockholm to Kiruna and then drive for about two hours. The managers of the lodge, lovers of skiing, music, food and wine, will welcome you in the most friendly way. You will feel at home, far from home. You will stay in one of the 14 double rooms with a clean Scandinavian style and you will have the opportunity to taste the unique and modern arctic cuisine offered by the restaurant. A bar, lounge, sauna and massage area are also available to relax after your adventurous day. One of the highlights is heli-skiing, where you can fly over the Scandinavian Alps in a helicopter and ski down one of the 60 peaks in over 5,000 km2 of skiable terrain.

If watching the Northern Lights in the winter, skiing under the midnight sun in the spring or hiking off the beaten track in the summer appeals to you, the Niehku Mountain Villa is the perfect place to realize your wildest alpine dreams!

2. Nkwichi Lodge - Mozambique

Nkwichi Lodge in Mozambique is one of the few destinations in the world that is still inaccessible by road, but this is what gives it its exceptional charm. The only way to reach this hidden paradise, nestled on the southern shore of Lake Malawi, is to cross the lake. A Nkwichi boat will meet you at the water's edge to take you to the lodge. The six cottages and two villas, located on the edge of the forest, are unique and blend into the environment so that you can enjoy the comforts of home in complete privacy. The lodge also offers a variety of activities, from adventures in the lush nature around the estate, to picnics under a 2000 year old baobab tree, to romantic moments on the private beach or an unforgettable night under the stars. You can also discover the customs and culture of the Nyanja tribe with a local guide or practice various water sports on the lake.

A magical getaway for couples, families or friends!

3. Pacuare Lodge - Costa Rica

If you are looking for a thrill, a stay at Pacuare Lodge in Costa Rica is definitely worth the trip! The journey to get there is already an adventure itself. Indeed, no road leads to the lodge. The particularity of this hotel is that the arrival is done by rafting on the Pacuare river. For those who are not so keen on water, the arrival can also be done by helicopter or 4x4 and then on foot. After this emotional entrance, you will be welcomed with a delicious tropical cocktail. During the day, the resort offers a dozen different experiences ranging from jungle trekking to bird watching to preparing a traditional meal with the local Cabecar people. You can also enjoy the pool with an incredible view of the river or thermal treatments incorporating the wisdom of ancient cultures. Finally, you will spend the night in one of the suites or villas with private pool in the heart of the rainforest.

Adventure, nature, culture and relaxation will be the order of the day!

4. Shipwreck Lodge – Namibia

Departure for one of the most mysterious places on earth, the Skeleton Coast in Namibia! This area gets its rather macabre name from the whale and sea lion bones that litter its beaches and the wrecks of ships, victims of thick fog, strong winds and powerful ocean currents. About an 8-hour drive from the nearest airport, you'll find Shipwreck Lodge, a true eco-friendly gem in the middle of the dry desert. With 10 luxurious wreck cabins, a restaurant and local guides, Shipwreck Lodge is dedicated to providing a unique experience. You can take a ride through the dunes on a 4x4 or quad bike, explore the wrecks along the pristine beaches and watch the sunset from the water's edge. The lucky ones will even have the opportunity to see some animals! Indeed, the hostile environment of the Skeleton Coast is the refuge of many animal species such as the desert elephant, the oryx, the springbok or the black rhinoceros, an endangered species.

With not a soul around, it's the perfect place to take time for yourself and your loved ones.

5. Southern Ocean Lodge, Kangaroo Island - Australia

About 15 kilometers south of the Australian coast is Kangaroo Island, a nature reserve full of natural gems. The island is a true sanctuary for birds, koalas, wallabies, kangaroos and flora. The Southern Ocean Lodge is located in this idyllic setting and out of sight. The lodge has a variety of suites with extraordinary ocean views and a restaurant that offers an unforgettable dining experience. When it comes to activities, there's plenty to choose from: watching sea lions basking on the wild beaches, diving in the turquoise waters around the island, or walking the marked trails in search of kangaroos. During this stay, you will find yourself in perfect harmony with nature.

Calm and serenity await you in this haven of peace.
