3 Belgian food concepts to travel from home

Updated: Sep 15, 2021

This week, instead of taking you on a trip, we propose a culinary escape to discover flavors from here and elsewhere!

We have selected 3 food concepts based in Brussels and offering innovative initiatives in these times of lockdown, which will not fail to awaken your taste buds and inspire the gourmets and epicureans among you.

We agree 1000% and share with you these local discoveries and flavors from elsewhere!

1. The most local: Chef Basket

Chef Basket, is the meeting between two young people from Brussels. The goal of their initiative? To support the producers impacted by the crisis who can no longer serve the restaurants of our beautiful capital. Their objective is to allow the inhabitants of Brussels to have a selection of products delivered directly to their homes from suppliers who usually deliver to chefs and restaurants. An original initiative that supports both local producers and allows you to save precious time in the kitchen.

2. The most oriental: Komi box

You want to prepare your own meals and discover an authentic Asian cuisine? This is what the "Komi Box" concept offers you by proposing new recipes exclusively thought and prepared by asian people who are above all passionate and wish to transmit their culture. Every two weeks, find a new emblematic recipe of the Asian cuisine and have the box delivered to you in order to prepare it yourself at home. A way to combine business with pleasure, to learn and travel to Asia in one bite!

3. The most cosmopolitan: Old Boy

The Old Boy restaurant is a modern canteen that serves dishes inspired by the whole Asian culture. The restaurant had to adapt and reinvent its cuisine and menu by collaborating recently with el Taco Mobil in order to offer a creative and unique cuisine. A gustatory encounter between Asia and Latin cuisine to be delivered to your home!
